Plotten 2.0

Plotten 2.0 is a focused release. The biggest change is screenplay support, but it also adds typewriter mode and a round of general polish across the app.

This update is about making the writing environment more useful for script work without complicating the core experience for novelists and other long-form writers.

What’s new

Screenplay support

You can now create screenplay projects in Plotten and write with industry-standard formatting built into the editor. Scene headings, action, dialogue, and other screenplay elements are handled in the app, so you are not fighting the layout while drafting.

Typewriter mode

Typewriter mode keeps the current line centered on screen and reduces visual clutter. If you prefer a quieter writing view, this makes long drafting sessions easier.

General improvements

Plotten 2.0 also includes bug fixes and interface improvements aimed at making the app feel more stable and predictable day to day.

Why this release matters

Screenplay support has been one of the biggest gaps in the app. Adding it means Plotten can now cover more of the writing workflows our users actually care about, from outlining and research to drafting and export.

Just as important, the release keeps the product simple. The new tools are there when you need them, but they do not get in the way of other kinds of writing.
